Hardrock UK helped design and co-produced them
in China. We control the diamond content to ensure the quality
is high.
These cup wheels are much rougher than others. Many Uk sandstone
and limestone carvers buy them in the Northwest UK because they
have huge 30/40# (grit) diamonds.
They stay sharper last longer than most on the market.

Aluminum cup wheels are better because the body of aluminum does
not conduct (retain heat) unlike steel cup wheels.
Steel is a conductor of heat, constant grinding onto stone builds
friction and after 30miniuts or so there can be a height temperatures
build up on the disc for steel alternative cup wheels the heat
builds and builds to finger burning heat. resulting in destroying
all diamonds making them less effective. Heat creates burn marks
in the alloys and pit holes of gas in the metal body. resulting
breaking up the segment on the disc. (Destroyed disc)
Aluminum cup wheels are better because they are balance perfect. Each
disc or wheel is laithed out of a single block of aluminum and
center threaded with M14 to fit all UK market grinders. NOT 5/8" Gas
used in USA market. So don't confuse them from other ebayers.
The Segment is molecular bonded to the surface of aluminum. The
segment is moulded in our factory and stamped with the turbo pattern
with is very rough to take off lots of material. The mould is imprinted
to only a depth of 6mm with a 3mm solid smoothing section to the
bottom. Masons find this an advantage. They use a worn cup wheel
disc to do fine finishing (removing saw marks from blades) They
state there is no need for higher grits. one tool for the job.
In fact the man featured on our video (25 years experience) on
our web site says "I have 2 cup wheels on the go. one to shape.
when it worn passed the turbo ridges, I use it to polish off. or
fine tuned that I am doing. I find them good on lots of types of
stone.(sandstone) hard & soft they don't burn my fingers when
I want to change them over." |
